San Mateo County Creek Champions

The San Mateo County Creek Champions program is the result of a partnership with The Watershed Project and the County of San Mateo.

The intention of the program is to educate 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students throughout San Mateo County about issues related to watershed ecology, pollution prevention, urban runoff and the impacts of used motor oil and storm drains.

Teachers, there is a host of creek ecology related curriculum that should be helpful in exploring some of these topics in more depth.  We have provided links to a number of sites that have even more information.

Follow the ‘Program Map’ link above to see the schools that are currently involved in the creek champions program.   Click on the the points to see just how much trash the students kept out of their local creek in just 15 minutes!!
